Callie's new "do"

Sweet Callie is a 2-3 year old Cocker Spaniel. She has a funky hairdo because she was covered in mats when she was brought in from the streets. Now she has that "in-between" look - ladies, can you relate?

Callie is living in a foster home in the south but would like a loving indoor home where she can be part of a family. Could that family be yours? She will provide love and loyalty in exchange for her needs being met.

Sweet Ariel

Ariel could not be sweeter! She is a great family dog just waiting for the right forever home.

She is a bit of a couch potato that would do best in a quieter home as she is a quiet dog. She is fine with children that are a little older, and fine with other dogs but much more interested in her people. She would do best in a home without a lot of alone time, and would love to have a retired person or people to share her love with!

New Homes for Sweet Babes

In the first couple of weeks of the new year the following dogs have found their forever homes: Rosalind, Gypsy, Red, Chico, Duke, Angel, Jessica, Cricket, Mickey, Bella, Murphy and Diamond. You know what comes next: there are ALWAYS more! We have some wonderful adult dogs as well as adorable puppies. Blanche is here, and she's a beautiful adult girl who is learning what family life is all about. At first she chased one of the cats but is doing fine, and at first she had to figure out how to behave with the other dogs but is learning by leaps and bounds. Big Dog Lovers - where are you?

Hello to all the big dog lovers out there, or lovers of big dogs! Ceasar is an 85 lb. bundle of kisses! He's a beautiful lab mix boy who longs for an indoor home and a wonderful family.

Abby is a grown-up Rottweiler girl who, at 8, has a lot of life left to give - she has been given a second chance after going through heartworm treatment - SUCH a big problem in the south! She's healthy now and needs an indoor home with a great family to love her.

It's hard to believe these sweeties have been in foster this long - just a few weeks, but they are such great puppies that we're surprised. Bella and Buster are in separate foster homes in the southern Maine area. Bella is living with kids, a dog, cats, birds, and even some gerbils. She is doing great - she shed her shyness very quickly and is having a great time playing and learning. Buster is living with two other dogs, kids, and cats and doing just fine. Beautiful Girls!

How about these beauties? Amber, Sienna, Indigo and Violet (we call them the Crayon Sisters!) were found in an abandoned house on Christmas Eve. They were starving and very scared. They are starting to come out of their shell but desperately need to go to a home environment where they can get much-needed consistency in meals, affection, and socialization. They can, of course, be split up - how would you pick? Beautiful, all of them!

One more success story for today!

After adopting out our 200th dog this week, it has been very special to reflect over the past year. Pictured here is Memphis (formerly, Marty the shepherd pup who came up with his siblings Muddles, Melvin, Mickey, etc) with his furry sister. Memphis is on the right. His mom says," I just wanted to drop you a quick email to let you know how happy we are with our adoption of Memphis! After lots of trust building and time, Memphis' personality has changed soooo much! No longer does he wait anxiously at his dinner spot and gobble up every last morsel, he lays across the room now and watches everything going on and takes his time getting to his food and often leaves some to go back to later. He has made quite a few doggie friends too. He is no longer fearful of every noise or dog while walking nicely on his leash. He has become the best running partner I could ask for! Ever so curious about the cats, he has now been known to share his sleeping spot with one of our kitties! He has a 'job' every morning, and comes with me to jump on the kids and wake them up for school. He thinks this is the best, and the kids anxiously await his pounce in the morning, they will stay in bed just to get their usual 'Memphis wake up'! Our golden, Molly, has been adjusting to his playful nature and has taught him quite a few things about being a good dog! He is very attached to her and she is enjoying the canine company! Thank-you so much for doing what you do! Thank-you for giving our dog a chance for a better life! We love him and we're glad he's home!
