Sweethearts in Need!

Martha is such a doll! She is an adult German Shorthaired Pointer. She was found as a stray and should have been able to go up for adoption right away because of her nice temperament and sweet nature but she tested heartworm positive - this is a huge problem in the south. She could not be treated until funds were raised, and we are happy to report that we have raised enough money to get her spayed and get her started in the heartworm treatment so we have sponsored her treatment and hope that she can come to our rescue soon after she is done - can't wait to meet her! She just needs funds for transportation and we can make sure she comes to a loving home when she is healthy and ready!

And then there is Ivy! This poor baby! She is a young lab (maybe pure-bred) who was hit by a car and she had 4 broken bones in her two rear legs. She crawled to a house and laid on the porch until the morning and waited for help. Then she hid under a car until they could coax her out. Even in all the pain she was in, she never tried to hurt anyone. At this point she has gone through months of surgeries (three of them), an external fixation device for one of the fractures, frequent bandage changes, and moving around from vet office to foster home and back to living in a cage at the vet's office. Her vet bills are over $2,000 at this point and the vet's office will not extend any more credit to our partner shelter because their bills are so high and money is so tight everywhere! Ivy is such a doll, and everyone who meets her absolutely loves her. We are waiting for Ivy to be healthy enough to travel and we want to help with the huge bills she has incurred. It's not fair for her to go back to the shelter or to be denied treatment - it's not her fault what happened! Please consider even a small donation - every little bit helps. We can collect your money by mail, or you can go to paypal (email luckypuprescue@roadrunner.com) and use your credit card. Reference Ivy or Martha and we'll make sure we apply the funds to their bills. We SO appreciate your generosity!
